Mahdi Samadi Khoshkhoo

former Senior scientist

Stay period:Feb. 1, 2020 - Aug. 31, 2022
Now: Employee at First sensor AG (TE Connectivity)
Link to external profile: https://www.first-sensor.com/de/
Group: nanomaterials and nano structuring

Mahdi studied polymer engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran, from 2006 to 2012, where he got his bachelor's and master's degrees. Later he joined the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Tübingen and got his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. Marcus Scheele and Prof. Dr. Thomas Chassé (2014-2017). In his Ph.D., he was working on self-assembly of coupled organic-inorganic nanostructures (COINs), which include inorganic nanocrystals physically and electronically connected through organic semiconductor ligands. He investigated the charge carrier transport mechanism and resistance-mediated vapor sensing in nanocrystal-based thin films. In January 2018, Mahdi joined the Chair of Physical Chemistry, TU Dresden, and worked in the research group of Prof. Dr. Alexander Eychmüller as a postdoctoral researcher where he focused on highly conductive superlattices of nanocrystals with tunable optical and electrical properties and developed near-infrared (NIR) emitting semiconductor nanocrystal heterostructures. Since February 2020, Mahdi is working in the research group of Prof. Dr. Gianaurelio Cuniberti at the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, TU Dresden. In his current research line, he focused on biosensors based on semiconductor nanocrystals. For more details see his research website.
