Kim

Young-Min Kim

former Visiting PhD student

Stay period:July 10, 2023 - Sept. 4, 2023
Group: computational materials science and theoretical nanophysics

Young-Min Kim obtained his B.Sc. degree in Polymer Science and Engineering at Dankook University in 2019. Since 2020, he has been working as a Ph.D. student in the Nano Convergence Systems (NCS) group of Prof. Jong-Souk Yeo from the School of Integrated Technology (SIT). Early in his degree course, he mainly developed fabrication Ovonic threshold switch (OTS) devices with a highly electrical performance. After 2021, he has been investigating the effects of local bias on chalcogenide thin film for selector devices at atomic scale using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to understand OTS switching mechanism. From August to October 2022, he visited the Fraunhofer-IKTS to optimize the deterministic lateral displacement (DLD) array through fluidic simulation using COMSOL. From July to September 2023, he is visiting the chair of Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti to analyze chalcogenide materials behind OTS phenomenon using first principles calculation in the group of Dr. Rafael Gutierrez.
