On July 4th, Dipl.-Ing. Natalie Haustein was awarded the Linde Award 2015 for her outstanding diploma thesis.Natalie wrote her thesis, entitled "Microfluidic alignment of silicon nanowires for the fabrication of single-nanowire field effect transistors" at our chair in collaboration with Prof. Bley from the chair of bioprocess engineering. She developed a novel alignment technique for bottom-up grown silicon nanowires based on directed confinement of nanostructures in microfluidic channel systems. Three prizes were awarded by Dirk Richter as representative of the Linde Engineering Dresden group for the best project thesis, diploma thesis and dissertation. The Linde Awards for the best project thesis and dissertation were given to Nina Schwarz and Dr.-Ing. Robert Langsch, respectively. The award for the best diploma thesis includes prize money of 1,000 euros.
The Award ceremony took place on July 4th, 2015 in the Boulevardtheater Dresden as part of the "Tag der Fakultät Maschinenwesen" where alumni of the study year 2014/2015 officially graduated from the Technische Universität Dresden (Foto: Christian Hüller/TUD).
