Supramolecular chemistry provides a unique tool of embedding metal ions into a framework of organic ligands. In the language of electronics this means that nearly arbitrary arrangements of metal centers with rather small ionization energies are possible. We report on STM spectroscopy measurements on several supramolecules containing distributed arrays of single transition metal ions. Some device ideas will be discussed.
